Michael John Radu

Michael passed away peacefully at Assiniboia Union Hospital on Aug. 17, 2014.

He was born on Feb. 28, 1923 at the family farm in the Flintoft district where he farmed for many years until retiring in 1980 and moving to Assiniboia. He was the last surviving child of Ion [John] and Margiola [Marie] Radu.

He had five brothers: John (Rosie), Costa (Annie), Steve (Mary), George (Elaine), infant Nick and four sisters: Mary (John Bachiu, Gabriel) Oancia, Helen (Neil) Campbell, Alex (Bill) Kwasnek and Laura (Russell) Casteel.

Mike will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 68 years Jennie (Zahariuk) and family, three children: Linda (John) Bumbac, Barry (Gwen) and Dianne Radu and five grandchildren and their families: Jamie (Christy) Bumbac; Chris (Holly) Bumbac and Michaela, Radu, Kenley, and Anna; Jesse (Laura) Radu and Astrid; Josh (Marissa) Radu and Gibsen and Alina Radu. Mike is also survived by daughter-in-law Karen Radu, sister-in-law Elaine Radu and brother-in-law Bill Kwasnek, as well as many nieces and nephews.
