It is with broken hearts, we announce the passing of Lucien Lavallee, on October 1, 2021 at the age of 84. Lucien is survived by his wife of 61 years, Doris (Forest), daughter Suzanne (Hugh dec’d), son Armand (Sherry), son Gerald (Chelan), daughter Colette (John), son-in-law Leo, sister Lorraine (Gilbert) and brother Larry (Elaine), seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by daughter Diane, his father George and mother Marie-Reine, and sister Rachel (George).
His biggest love was his family. He was passionate about everything he loved and shared his wisdom of gardening, fishing, camping and hunting. He also had a creative side and would spend the winter months making wooden lawn ornaments for the family in his ‘shop’. Lucien had the gift of gab and would stop to talk to total strangers telling them stories about his past and his family. If he travelled anywhere you could almost bet the French country music would be playing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and worked for the RM of Stonehenge #73 for 25 years. He will be greatly missed by everyone.
Funeral Mass was held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 1:00 pm at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church in Assiniboia, SK. Celebrant was Msgr Reymundo Asis. Urn Bearers Gerald Lavallee and Ryan Wells. Interment followed at St. Ignace Roman Catholic Cemetery, Willow Bunch, SK. Memorial donations may be made in Lucien’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.rossfuneralservice.com for the Lavallee family.
