Ken Parfitt of Assiniboia, SK passed away on December 6, 2012 at the age of 67. Ken was born on June 15, 1945 in Prince Albert, SK and was raised in Melfort, SK. He operated service stations in Melfort then he moved to Yorkton and worked for James Tire. From there he went to Calgary and worked for Crown Tire Services. In the early 1990’s Ken made his home in Assiniboia, where he worked for Thrifty Foods, Canada Bread Company and The Assiniboia Times.
In his younger years, Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed playing cards and socializing. Ken loved his dogs and they were his constant companions. The latest dog “Oreo” was never far from Ken’s side.
Predeceased by his parents, Eric and Lena and three infant siblings, Ken is survived by his siblings: David, Gerald, Gail Parfitt, Gary, Terry and Allan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service was held Friday, December 14, 2012 in Ross Funeral Chapel, Assiniboia, SK. Reverend Marilyn Leuty officiated. Family Service will be held at Silver Park Cemetery, Melfort, SK in the spring of 2013. Ross Funeral Service in care of arrangements.
