We were so sorry to learn of John's passing. He was a very special friend to our father, David Peebles. We will never forget his help and friendship during dad's illness.

Dear Rose and family, We were so sorry to hear John had passed on; we only found out of his passing the day of the funeral.  John had such a great sense of humour no matter the situation. John was the kindest person of all to me to during some of the harshest moments of my life. My condolences to everyone who knew him.

To Rose; Heather & Terry, Kyle, Adam & Tom; Scott & Inga:

My deepest condolences. John was like a father to me - there for the good times and the bad. He was a huge part of who I am, teaching me to believe in myself and what I did.  And, he was always there to guide me, teach me, support me, and pick up the pieces when everything fell apart. 

I will always remember John's witty (but true)words of wisdom.  Things like:

"it is better to sit quietly in a corner and look like an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"
"you can't teach someone that already knows everything"
"work through it - mind over matter"
"the last one out turns out the lights"

There are so many things I could say about him . . . years of memories working with him daily - in the hot in the cold, in the rain, in the snow.  I don't ever remember him complaining - about anything - ever. 

He worked all those years through all his suffering and pain of his cancer . . . I guess now for him the suffering is over, the pain is ended.

John was a true and faithful friend, and an honest upstanding professional in everything he did. I will remember him fondly. I will miss him terribly.

I am saddened to have learned of John's passing.As a funeral service colleague of John, I came to know and appreciate John's full committment to serving families at their most difficult time. 

John was the mainstay of Ross Funeral Service and every family fortunate enough to have been looked after by John testified to the care and compassion that he shared with each of them.

John was the consumate professional and was completely dedicated to his family, his profession and his community as well as to the large host of friends he enjoyed.

He leaves a wonderful legacy of love and service and will be sorely missed by all whose lives were touched by this wonderful person.

My wife Gay joins me in expressing our sincerest condolences to you.

Words just seem so inadequate to express the sadness we all feel at the loss of Uncle John.  We wish we could be there with all of you.  Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.
