CORA EVELYN (Ev) JORDAN of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully at Regina Extendicare Sunset on August 18, 2011. Ev was born March 23, 1915 at Lumsden, SK to John and Cora Bogle, the youngest of four children. Her father John died when she was one month short of her seventh year. She married Norman Russel Jordan on December 13, 1930 in Assiniboia and had two children Reta and John (Jack). They lived in Viceroy until 1937 farming two sections of land and had 20 head of cattle. You could always see the two of them with their own tractors and equipment working the land together. Ev and Russ drove school bus for 28 years; she drove for spring seeding and at harvest time so Russ could keep on the land. Cora and Russ lived on a farm at Viceroy until 1996 then to Assiniboia and following Russ’s death in 2004, she moved to Regina in 2006. Ev enjoyed her knitting, crocheting and other crafts. She especially enjoyed her garden and flowers, always working to keep them looking beautiful. People in Assiniboia would stop and admire her garden and flowers. She did this while caring for Russ after his stroke. Her home floral arrangements where strategically located all around the house. She also loved ornaments and knick knacks (cabinets and shelves all over). Predeceased by her parents John & Cora Bogle, husband Russ, daughter Reta Stalker and son-in-law Don Stalker, brothers Clark and Irving Bogle, and sister Violet Coulter; Ev is survived by her son John “Jack” (Marjorie) and their three children: Karen (Dean) Mann and their children Jordan and Matthew; Cheryl (Jonathan) McConnell and their children Taylor and Lexandra; Linda (Shaun) Smulan and their children Alyssa and Jarrett; deceased daughter Reta (Don) Stalker’s children: Maureen (Gord) Williamson and their children Candace and Jessica; Murray (Janet) Stalker and their son Clayton; three sisters-in-law Jean Schneck, Shirley Nord and Donna Merkley, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral Service was held at Ross Funeral Chapel, 123 4th Ave E., Assiniboia, SK, on Monday, August 22, 2011, at 1:00 pm. Elder Glen Gill officiated. The tribute was given by Glen Gill. The organist was Marjorie Hamilton, congregations Hymns “In the Garden”, “Abide With Me” and “Nearer My God to thee”. Pallbearers were: Leonard Bogle, Garth Schneck, Randy Irvin, Leslie Kvamme, Bob Kvamme, John Kvamme and Murray Stalker. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations in memory can be to Canadian Diabetes Assoc. or the SK Heart & Stroke Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
