Barb Pratt of Bengough passed away January 27th, 2017. Predeceased by her father Ralph Toothill, Barb is survived by her loving husband Gary; four children: Sheri (Wes) Campbell, Rob (Christine), Ryan (Michelle), Scott (Melinda); her mother Iolene Toothill; 13 grandchildren; and her brother Jack (Brenda). Born on May 3rd, 1949, Barb lived in Regina, Saskatchewan for most of her school days until moving to Bengough, Saskatchewan in 1963. There, she finished high school, met and married Gary Pratt, and moved on to the life of a farm wife. Although she was also kept busy by raising their four children, she still found time to pursue her ceramics and doll-making business. Her incredibly life-like creations brought joy, not only to customers in Western Canada, but to collectors around the world. Whenever family and friends were able to get together, Barb felt it was cause to celebrate; and on February 1st, 2017 we did just that—celebrating the sparkle she brought to our lives. A sincere “thank-you” to everyone who supported us after we lost our beautiful Barb. It is hard to express just how much your many acts of kindness have helped us get through these difficult days. Thanks for everything: from your company, caring, casseroles, and turkeys to your hugs, hams, and heartfelt sympathies; for decorating and staffing the hall where we told stories, admired the gorgeous flowers, watched children play, shared tears, and yes, even danced a little in honour of her joyful spirit. We hope she was watching it all—and if she was we think she would have been pleased. Donations in memory of Barb may be made to the “Bloomin’ Broads” c/o Beautify Bengough, P.O. Box 202, Bengough, SK S0C 0K0. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.rossfuneralservice.com.
