Dec. 20, 1925 – Nov. 1, 2016
Anna Monea (nee Wolfe), age 90, of Rockglen, SK, passed away peacefully in the care of family. She was predeceased by her husband, Nick (1979). Anna is survived by her five children: Gwen (Rod) Keith, Dr. Diana Monea, Dwight (Judy), Frank (Cindy) and Tom (Debbie), her nine beloved grandchildren: Nicole (Mike) Kissick, Skylar Keith (Logan), Kenda and Anna Swanson, Adrianna, Lee (Shea) and Nick Monea and Lindsey and Jamie Monea; her great-grandchildren Avery, Caleb and Autumn Kissick. Anna is also survived by her brother Dr. Bernard Wolfe (Elena), sisters-in-law Margaret Wolfe, Victoria Monea and Isabel Monea and several nieces and nephews. Anna was known as a “giver” who nurtured the soul in people. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered for her skill in “making great things out of nothing”…, her cooking, sewing, knitting, gardening and stunning art. She and Nick farmed near Killdeer, Sask. Anna nursed at Rockglen Union Hospital for 25 years and had a chance to travel to Alaska, Europe and on several adventures with her family members. Anna was the ‘lady with the lamp’ for many who she nursed in southwest Saskatchewan. Her grit, gentleness and love remain her legacy. Prayer Service was held Monday, November 7, 2016 and Funeral Mass was celebrated November 8, 2016. Both services were held at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Rockglen, SK. Donations may be made to Rockglen Health Care Auxiliary Memorial Fund for the Grasslands Health Center. Special thank you to the Grasslands staff who cared for Anna for 13 years. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.rossfuneralservice.com.
