Walter H. Schubert

SCHUBERT, Walter H., 70, of Mechanicsville, departed this life Wednesday, March 26, 2014. After serving five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, he was employed by AMF Bowling Bakery Division for 15 years, followed by Virginia Power for 15 years, working for both companies as a mechanical/electrical engineer. He also worked as a contractor for Philip Morris until his retirement at age 62. He was very active in the German community and was a member of the Deutscher Sports Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Hilda Schubert. He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, David (Pam); grandchildren, Candice and David Jr.; and five great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Hope Community Church of the Nazarene, 8391 Atlee Road, Mechanicsville, Va. 23116.
