April 30, 2014, Toni, 26, a beautiful daughter, sister and sculpture major from VCU, decided to accept God's invitation to an exclusive art exhibit in heaven. God blessed Toni with a deep passion to create artful masterpieces. Her quest began at the age of six when she proclaimed that she would be an artist. From that point forward, she was driven by her passion to explore art in all of its facets. Her unique eye and flair blossomed with support from her family. She was a member of the Kappa Pi Art Fraternity and received VCU's prestigious Dangerous Artist Sculpture Award. Although her stay was brief, Toni was a star that burned bright. She is survived by her father, Norman (Doug) Eddleton; mother, Brenda J. Mell; stepfather, Dr. Leroy Mell; sister, Stacy J. Hayes; grandparents, Alvan and Beverly Boothe; her stepsiblings, Scott, Amy, and Ashley Mell; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on May 3, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 South Washington Highway, Ashland, with interment immediately following at the Eddleton Farm, Montpelier, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to VCU School of the Arts - Toni Eddleton Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 842519, Richmond, Va. 23284.
