She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gracie Flemmons.
Shelia graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1978. She worked in Ashland at Brooks Citgo and later spent 30 years with Virginia Department of Transportation. Shelia survived breast cancer twice and supported many associations. She enjoyed bowling and softball and playing with her teammates on the VDOT team. Many knew Shelia as an avid cat lover and her love for her American Indian Heritage. She collected many dolls and enjoyed repairing antique toys. She was known to enjoy thin and crispy pepperoni pizza with extra cheese.
Shelia is survived by her husband, Terry Hicks; brother, Douglas "Shorty" Flemmons; close cousins, Karen "Rosie" Green and Jermie Harris; and numerous other family members.
The family will receive friends from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005 where a funeral service will be held at 12pm on Saturday, May 1, 2021.
