Ralph was born on July 30, 1942, to George and Ann Jones Stanley in Ashland, Virginia, and was welcomed by 10 older siblings. He met his wife, Barbara Ann Eudailey, on a blind date in 1959 and married on June 9, 1962, enjoying 62+ wonderful years of marriage. Ralph retired twice, first from Brinks and then from the City of Richmond’s public utility department, where he made many friends. Ralph enjoyed gardening and caring for the pony (Oreo) for his granddaughters. He also loved telling stories and jokes.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Barbara Stanley, and two children, Frances Stanley and David (Stanley), as well as daughter-in-law Reney Stanley. He was proud of his two granddaughters, Sarah Stanley and Ella Stanley. He is also survived by his sisters, Etta Dawson and Marie (Dan) McMillen, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a special lap dog named Argyll.
A Celebration of Life will be held to remember Ralph at Slash Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Hanover, Virginia, on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 2 p.m., with visitation at 1 p.m.
