ASKEW, Myrtle Lee, 79, of Montpelier, went to be with her Lord on March 21, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Stanley. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Davis and Betty Stanley; and son-in-law, Gary Bryant, Sr. She is survived by her children, Lynn Bryant (Jay), Rita Walker (Allie), Rhonda Lowry (Mike), and Wayne Askew (Carolyn); grandchildren, Angela (Jason), Gary (Jennifer), Thomas (Hannah), Colby, Ethan, Mathew, Christopher, Victoria, Kaitlin, and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Lynsie, Bryer, Tatum, Grayson, Graydyn, and Grayclyn; sisters, Lucy Harris, Florence Payne, Elsie Stanley, and Viola Stanley; brothers, Benjamin Stanley and Douglas Stanley; and her loving cat, Lula Bell. Myrtle was a life-time member at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8pm on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A service will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at St. Peter’s UMC. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
