She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter McAllister and daughter, Brigitte King Putze.
May was survived by her cherished son Wayne Harvey King; grandchildren; Cameron Wayne King, Christopher Wayne Putze, Jennifer Putze Niess & James Robert Putze; siblings, Christine Brooking Barden and Louis L. (Ginger) Brooking, Jr. and great-grandchildren; John Robert Niess, Wesley Scott Sickinger, Farrah Ann Hendrich and Jude Elliston Hendrich.
May graduated from Highland Springs High School and worked in the buying office for Thalhimers Department Store.
Relatives and friends are invited to May's visitation on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A private burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery on a different date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hanover Animal Control.
