Mary Weeks Johnson

Johnson, Mary Weeks, 88, of Ashland, passed away on July 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; sisters, Dorothy Martin, Margaret Becker, Alma Campbell, and a brother, James Marvin Weeks. She is survived by her sons, David W. Johnson (Melanie) and Thomas D. (Madeleine); daughters, Beverly Bray (Steve) and Katie Gay (Harvey); grandchildren, David Alec Bray (Diane Morrison), Meghan Bray Donohue (Michael), Kathryn Clark Johnson, Anne Margaret Feeney Johnson, Elizabeth Cooper Johnson, Olivia Shopshear, and Victoria Russell Pace; and her brother, Clark Weeks. Mary worked as a Secretary for the State Highway Dept. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She was also a member of Ashland Women’s Club and enjoyed painting, sewing, playing the piano and round dancing. She was an interpreter at Scotchtown. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA. The funeral service will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Ashland, VA. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery.
