John David Lynch, 57, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014. He was born in Germany and raised in Alabama and has lived in Ashland since 1979. He is survived by his wife, Pansy Rose Lynch; children, Johnny Ray Lynch, Langdon Lynch, Samantha Fine and Mark Rakes; two grandchildren, Matthew and Jacob; brothers and sisters, Victor Lynch, Danny Lynch, Connie Tappan, Mark Lynch, Suzanne Layne, Angela Easterwood and Deborah Moreland; beloved Aunt Betty; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was a beloved husband, a “true southern gentleman” and an amazing, loving father and grandfather. He was a superintendent and master carpenter for Monument Construction LLC and was a member of the National Rifle Association. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22 at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA where services will be held Wednesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Signal Hill Memorial Park, Hanover, VA.
