Evenson, John E. (Ed), 72, of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa D. Lloyd (Tom); two granddaughters, Sarah and Katherine Lloyd; two sisters, Edwina E. Smithson and Sandra E. Rutherford; his former wife and best friend, Norma L. Evenson; and his loving cats, Lisa, Sydney, Lilly, and Jack. Ed was the former owner of Southern Appraisal Company and a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014 with a visitation 1 hour prior at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Biltmore Baptist Church or Hanover County Humane Society.
