Irene Murray Cobb

Irene Murray Cobb, age 93, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving son, Donald Murray; daughter-in-law, Kara Murray; grandson, Devin Murray; and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Murray who dedicated care to her for the last 3 years. She enjoyed being able to spend time with her grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cobb; sisters, Eva, Dorothy, and Martha; grandson, Nicholas White; and her faithful cat companion, Snoopy, who she treasured for 18 years. Earlier in her life, she was a bookkeeper at many different hotels and after that, she managed Danzer's German Restaurant in Syracuse, NY while supporting and raising her 4 children on her own. Irene was very passionate about sewing and knitting, she was a member of the American Sewing Guild for well over 20 years and volunteered her time to sew and raise money for children with special needs and the less fortunate. Including altering clothing donated to Children in Distress, creating cancer caps for the American Cancer Society, outfits for babies in the NICU, and creating costumes for the Children's Home of Broward County. She was most happy on a rainy day when she was able to lounge in her pajamas the entire day. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Donald Murray; daughter-in-law, Kara Murray; grandson, Devin Murray (Alexis Griesbaum); granddaughter, Kaitlyn Murray; great-granddaughters, Madison and Ava; we are grateful for her wonderful neighbors who did so much for her; Steve, Denise, Bella, and Stephen DiBiase, Marcy & Jack Adamo, and Carina & Rick Gomez, she was so blessed with having such kind, thoughtful and giving neighbors; best friends, Aliece Bristol and Marjorie Conlin; and daughters, Barbara Murray White Shipman Cobb of Oneonta, NY and Diana Murray of Hillsboro Beach, FL.
