She was preceded in death by her parents, Jenny and Louis Lane; first husband, Arthur Michael; second husband, Joe Sneed; siblings, Mildred, Edith, Alfred, Sam; and grandsons, Joel Michael, Stephen Marshall.
Helen enjoyed living on the York River. She had a vast collection of lighthouses and roosters. Helen loved to shop and enjoyed listening and dancing to bluegrass and country music. She also had quite a soft spot for animals, especially her Yorkie, Jojo.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carolyn Greene (Junie), Kay Jones (Roger), Jerry Michael (Shirley), Steve Michael (Susie); 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005.
