Hazel Rowe Cook

Hazel Rowe Cook, 90, of Glen Allen, passed away on October 1, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Franklin and Goldie Hall and was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde, Felix, William, and Claude Rowe and sister, Alice Hardee. She was a dedicated member of Parham Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and served as Secretary. Hazel enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, cheering for the UNC Tarheels basketball team, and raising her family of 4 children and later her grandchildren. Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband of 67 years, Ralph "R.C." Cook; children, Beverley Evans, Randy Cook (Wanda), Ronnie Cook (Virginia), and Robin Butler (Rick); nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Clara Merritt and Ruth Wynne as well as several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 5-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 11am. Interment will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
