Glenda Waldrop Brooks

BROOKS, Glenda Waldrop, born October 25, 1946, died May 24, 2014, age 67, the eldest child of Richard Glenn and Eloise Waldrop. Predeceased by her husband, Derward A. Brooks. She retired from Reynolds Aluminum Company and was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church. Glenda will be remembered as someone who loved to laugh and make others laugh and wanted everyone to have a good day. She treasured music, family and friends and considered herself a second Mama to her siblings. She is survived by two brothers, Charles Waldrop (Cathy) and Richard Waldrop (Juli); two sisters, Sharon Pittman (Randy) and Jo Anne Bailey (Tim); four nieces; two nephews; and her beloved dog, Mr. Bo. Visitation will be held Monday, May 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home Reid Chapel in Ashland, Va. Service will be held Tuesday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at Hopeful Baptist Church, 14340 Hopeful Church Rd., Montpelier, Va. 23192, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
