She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne DePuy and Frances Cannon; and her brother, Sonny DePuy.
Ellen worked at Pioneer Pallets for many years and most recently worked for Shenandoah Resort. Her world revolved around her grandchildren and she enjoyed going on family trips. If she wasn’t home, you could find her in Montpelier with her grandbabies.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Adam Whittemore (Brenda), Ryan DePuy; grandchildren, Madison “Madie Rae”, Lil Adam, Miranda “Pookie”, Mackenzie “Kenzie Belle”; siblings, Jeannie Sandridge (Bob) and Rainey Paylor (Robert) of Mechanicsville, Shelley Smith (Bubba) of Louisa, Tony Chambers of Florida; her beloved dog, Ms. Brown; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.
