Edel Holm Thompson, 85, of Ashland, passed away on July 28, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Thompson; daughter, Linda Hamm and sister, Ella Albertus. Edel attended First Baptist Church in Ashland and enjoyed her Sunday School Class and knitting caps with fellow church members. She loved her river home and sharing it with her family and friends. Edel was an avid traveler. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lux (John); grandsons, Thomas Lux and Nick Hamm; sister, Rita Ibsen and nephews, Finn Ibsen and Niels Ibsen. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory - Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005.
