Dana Kathleen Long, aged 42, of Ashland, Virginia, passed away on December 6, 2024. Born on November 25, 1982, Dana's true self was brilliant, beautiful, hilarious, and loving. She had the courage and fierceness to ride thoroughbred horses, coupled with the patience and care to grow a flourishing garden.
Dana is survived by her father, Ray Long Jr.; mother, Susan Mefford; stepmother, Leslie Beck-Long; stepfather, Ren Mefford; sisters, Cara Jean O'Neal, Aimee Long, and Kristin Pollard; and brothers, Brian Beck, Dale Beck, Matt Beck, and Hunter Mefford. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was loved deeply by all she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Hearst and Marguerite McClellan, and paternal grandparents, Ray and Ann Long.
Amid deep sadness, her family finds comfort in knowing that she is at peace.
A private memorial gathering will be held for family members.
