CROMWELL, Carolyn Doggett, 71, of Manakin-Sabot, Va., died on September 11, 2014. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Eleanor Gilman and Nelson Robert Doggett of Ashland, Va. Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Baylor Giles Cromwell; her two sons, Chay and Grafton; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; and granddaughter, Laynie Cromwell. She is also survived by a devoted sister, Judy Doggett Davis; two brothers, Greg and Ron Doggett; and many cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Her loving cousin, Betty Lee Stanley, also survives her. Carolyn’s love for others, her compassion, and her radiant smile endeared her to everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. Carolyn was a graduate of the Johnston-Willis Hospital School of Nursing and upon her retirement, she was an oncology nurse at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital. Carolyn was a member of the Wyndham Club Commons Book and Garden Club and she cherished her friendships with members and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 4-6pm on Sunday, September 14th at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005.
