Alma Dukes Scott

Scott, Alma Dukes, 86, of Hanover, passed away on June 10, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Rufus and Callie Dukes and was preceded in death by her son, Bernard M. Scott, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Bernard Scott; daughter, Anne “Gerry” Vaughan (Stephen); grandchildren, Jamie Vaughan (Marcy), Lee Vaughan, Randy Scott (Brooke), and Katie Smith (Joe); sister, Margaret Dukes Wilson; daughter-in-law, Nancy Blackburn Scott; and other loving family members. She graduated from Glen Allen High School and attended Westhampton College. Alma retired at the age of 82 as an accountant for Wright, Dunn & Company, where she worked for more than 49 years. She was a member of The Church in Restoration. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA, where services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2013. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
