Alan Gregory Saunders

Alan Gregory Saunders, 70, of Ashland, Virginia, died May 29, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother Ida Barrett Gregory, his father William Knight Saunders Jr., and his brother William Knight Saunders III. Alan was a state administrator for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He graduated in 1975 from the School of Business at the University of Richmond and also from Louisburg College in North Carolina. Alan loved spending time at the Rivah in White Stone Va., reading, telling stories, and cooking. He is survived by his spouse Cathy Saunders. He is also survived by his children, Elizabeth Overstreet (Garreth) and Lauren Harlow (B.J.). His grandchildren, Finn Overstreet and Barrett Harlow survive Alan as does his brother, Stephen P.
