Toby was born February 8, 1935 in Ashland, Ohio, and was the son of Roby and Lucille (Cutcher) Tobias. He was a dedicated father, husband, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of loyalty, integrity, opinion, and intelligence.
Toby truly lived the American Dream. He served his country as a member of the United States Army. He married the woman of his dreams, Celeste, spending 67 plus years of marriage with her. He served his community as a police officer before becoming a mason for 27 years where he built dream houses, schools, universities and hospitals. He enjoyed spending time with his local friends and family. He also taught all of us the four things we love to do the most: golf, fish, take care of our lawns, and do whatever you need to do for your family. He was a man of very few words unless it was about the Cleveland Browns. He always said it’s more important to show love then to say it. And that the man who lived the American Dream and truly our Hero!
A member of Bricklayers Union Local 40, Ashland Elks 1360 where he served as Exalted Ruler, and the American Legion.
Toby is survived by his wife of 67 years, Celeste M. Tobias; his children, sons Joe (Judy) Tobias, Jim Tobias, and daughter Diane (Tobias) Crowley; his grandchildren, Jamison Tobias, Michael (Nuvola) Tobias, Anthony (Kristen) Tobias, Roger Tobias, Kristina (Christian) Tobias Albers, Jonathan (Sarah) Crowley, David (Lauren) Crowley, Jacob (Claire) Crowley and his great-grandchildren, Grace, Alexander, Cloyd, and Oliver Tobias and Hayden, Austin, Bennett, Celia, Kellen, and Jack Crowley.
