Lee was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, to Mildred Harvey and George Kendall MacDonald.
Lee attended St. Johnsbury Academy and graduated from the University of Vermont with Bachelors and Masters Degrees.
Lee served in the United States Air Force and was a retired Colonel in the Reserves.
After leaving the Air Force, Lee worked at Martin Marietta in Littleton and then started his own Public Relations firm.
Lee started the American Skibob Association as well as the Skiers Gazette newspaper. He then created Science Circus and presented science programs to schools across the country.
Lee was an avid golfer, loyal Bronco fan and a great skier. Lee was a member of the Shriners, Sandblasters, and Jesters, Littleton Elks Club and former member of Pinehurst Country Club.
Leland is survived by his wife, Gloria MacDonald, daughter Debbie MacDonald and her husband Garnet Heyer, granddaughter Melissa Cameron Sattler and her husband Paul Sattler and 4 great grandchildren.
Lee was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Murdo (Mac) and George (Lefty) MacDonald.
Services with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, January 22 at 1pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, Co. 80235, Staging Area A.
Please arrive to join the vehicle processional line up by 12:50pm.
A celebration of Lee’s life will immediately follow the 20 minute service and will be held at Pinehurst Country Club, 6255 W. Quincy Ave, Denver, 80235.
