Virgil Henry Theiss, age 90, of Imperial, entered into an eternal rest on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Son of the late Theodore & Agnes (nee’ Vonder Haar) Theiss. Beloved Husband of late Dolores (nee’ Lammert) Theiss; father of Vincent Theiss, Vernon Theiss (Gennady Smirnov), Theresa Burkart; grandchildren are Nathan (Catherine) Burkart & Ryan Burkart; great-grandchildren are Vivyanne, Sadie, and Theodore.
He is survived by his brothers Robert, Donald, late Richard, late Joseph and by his sisters Jeanette Trenary, Mary Ann Luaders, Dolores Luaders, & Rosemary Black. Also, Virgil cherished his nieces, nephews, friends and family members.
He was an accomplished & retired butcher from Schnucks and Union Local 88. He treasured deer hunting, fishing, gardening, bowling, barbecuing, cooking, splitting wood, making sausage, spending time & playing farkel (dice game of guts and luck) with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, hospitality, loving soul, storytelling, thoughtful conversations, joking behavior, and devoted love of his family and friends.
He will be deeply missed by all.

Visitation for Virgil will be held on Tuesday November 19, 2024 from 9:30-11:00 am at St. John the Beloved Disciple Catholic Church 4614 Blue Springs Dr. Imperial, MO 63052. Funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 11:00 am at St. John the Beloved Disciple Catholic Church. Interment St. John Catholic Cemetery.
