HILL, Mary E. (nee Gibbar), of Arnold MO Fortified With The Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on October 21, 2022, also Mary’s 83rd birthday. She passed away peacefully at Sunset Healthcare in Union, MO. Mary was born in 1939 in Perryville, MO to the late Leroy and Mildred Gibbar. One of 11 children, she was a 1957 graduate of Bishop DuBourg High School, and was united in Marriage to Lee Hill in April of 1959 in St. Louis, MO and was happily married to Lee until his passing in 1997.
Cherished mother of Dr. William (Jennifer Lowe) Hill of Sullivan, MO, the late Dr. Pat (Mike survives) Bonnot (dec. 2015) and infant son Douglas (dec. 1964). She was the adoring grandmother of Betheny Bonnot (John) Kopera of Roscoe, IL, Courtney Bonnot (Neekara) Nwizugha of Fairview Heights, IL, Kaitlynn Hill of St. Charles, MO and Drake Hill of St. Charles, MO, as well as great grandmother to her joy Chelsea Nwizugha. Mary is survived by siblings Shirley Buchman of Pacific, MO and Jerry (Donna) Gibbar of Mehlville, MO; she was preceded in death by siblings Hazel Blindauer, Frances Buetler, Stella Weber, Sylvia McGowan, Norma Gibbar, Jim Gibbar, Robert Gibbar and Paul (Joyce survives) Gibbar. Mary has 53 nieces and nephews, as well as many other family and friends.
Mary was a long-time member of the St. David Catholic Church of Arnold, MO. She served as an Orthodontic assistant and office manager in Affton, MO for 30 years and was the Queen Mother of her local Red Hatters group. She enjoyed spending time serving others through community and Catholic charities. Mary loved sewing, reading, playing cards, travelling, visiting with loved ones, telling jokes, being silly, watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and eating strawberry sundaes!
Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at St. David Catholic Church, Arnold, MO. Inurnment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Lemay, MO.
