Carol A. Cox (nee Payton), Wednesday, August 28, 2013. Safe in the arms of Jesus after a courageous seven year battle with ovarian cancer. Dear daughter of the late Eugene and Dorothy Payton; treasured mother of Barbara Peyton, Denise (Stephen) Simpson and Lori (Gary) Pyatt; dearest sister of Eileen (Nick) Nixon and the late Robert and Sharon Payton; dearest G-Ma to Stephanie (Malachi) Owen, Brenda (Tim) Hartupee and Recco; dearest Grandma Flowers to Grace and Spencer Peyton; dearest G-G to Kylee, Brody, Mackenzie, Bailey and Bryce; dear sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. Survived by her loving companion, Harry. Special thanks to Dr. Morris and Kelly and the entire staff of St. Louis Oncology for their excellent care and compassion and to Mom's caregivers for dedicating the last three months to her care. No mother has ever been loved more by her daughters. She was our best friend, our unwavering support and our precious gift from God. We will love you and miss you forever.
