Richard John Ole Ward

Richard John Ole Ward better known as “Ole” passed on 2/1/25. Ole was born in Edmonds, WA to John and Sue Ward. Starting at an early age, Ole was always headstrong and walked to the beat of his own drum. From his strong personality, high level of intelligence, charm and his good looks, he was a force to be reckoned with.

Ole’s passions in life began the minute his feet hit the ground. He loved being active, the outdoors and anything that had wheels. When Ole was a kid, he loved playing outside in the dirt whether it was digging, playing with his tonka trucks or squirting everyone with the water hose. As he got older it evolved to making forts and hideouts in the forest to eventually treehouses. Always a daredevil, he started to build wood and dirt ramps not long after learning how to ride a bike. This continued into adulthood and evolved into motorcycles doing wheelies and stunts. He loved his Datsun 510 that he built as a young adult and would use to drift and later his Jeep Cherokee to four by four in the mountains. Ole often reflected on an amazing trip that he took to Tulum and wanted to do more travel.

On top of being athletic, Ole was incredibly intelligent. He learned how to build and repair his BMX bikes and as he got older repaired his own vehicles on his own. He would immerse himself reading about ancient cultures especially about the Egyptians and Mayans. Once he found something he was interested in he would read and absorb information like a sponge. Ole was talented at absolutely anything he put his mind to.

Ole had a light that when it was turned on you couldn’t help but gravitate towards it. He leaves behind several lifelong friends that remember the chaos and light that was Ole. He also leaves behind his parents John and Sue and siblings Jamie and Jill and many friends and extended family. We will forever miss that light and will remember those days with love in our hearts. Rest in peace Ole Man.
