Linda Darlene Baker Russell

On February 23rd, 2022, Linda Darlene Russell, beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Niece, Cousin, and Friend passed away peacefully after a long 2-1/2 year fight for health and life in her home in Arlington, WA at the age of 71. Born in Mesa, Arizona on April 20,1950 the baby of 11 children and loved by her parents Osmer and Jennett Baker.

A woman with many titles throughout her life her most cherished were Military Wife, Mom, and Grandma. Often times, while us kids were growing up, a single mother of 3 (my dad was a 21.5 year Navy man, whose work took him away from the family for long indefinite periods of time) a “doctor and a nurse”, teacher, referee (there were three of us) bodyguard, chef, baker, story teller, singer, jokester, boogeyman chaser, barbie doll clothes maker, consoler, boo boo fixer, love instiller, homemaker, nurturer, protector, head cheerleader of her kids, hug and kiss expert, homework helper, pro snuggler, icky bug killer, vomit cleaner, nose wiper, kind words pusher, growing pains fixer, squabble stopper, manners enforcer, gentle guider, belief sharer, competitive "board game" player, friend, confidant, positivity promoter, cherished memory maker, Non hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer fighter and survivor, patriot, and unconditional love giver. We are so grateful for her example, her smile, her neverending love, her loyalty, living her values, and her ability to radiate God’s love, joy, and light even during trials. The most powerful blessing she gave us was love at home and she did it honorably.

Thank you Mom for your unconditional love, your selflessness, your devotion, your gentleness, your firmness, your courage, your resilience, your ability to forgive everybody, your optimism, your strength, your character, your neverending love, teaching us we are children of God, and that families are forever.

Linda is survived by her husband of 49 years Raymond Frank Russell Jr., her son Daniel Lee Russell and daughter Minda Russell, her son Chad Jacob Russell and daughter Angela Russell, her daughter Shelly Rebecca Russell, her 7 grandchildren Danica, Rayan, Seth, Michael, Bryce, Lexington, and Abriana, and many nieces and nephews that she loved profoundly. Preceded in death by her parents Osmer and Jennett Baker, sister Beth, sister Helen, sister Clarice, sister Louise, brother John, brother Osmer Nyal, sister Marlene, sister Jennett, and sister Bonnie.
