Our awesome father, Larry Stogner passed away on Wednesday, April 9th at the age of 67, after his courageous fight with cancer. He was a loving dad and granddad, always ready to smile and warm our hearts.
Larry was born on January 2nd 1947 to Norris and Edith Stogner. He grew up in El Paso, Texas, a graduate of Burgess High School. In 1967, he joined the U. S. Navy and went on to serve 4 years as a veteran of the Vietnam War. He graduated from the University of Texas in El Paso and moved to Dallas in 1975, where he went to work for Texas Instruments. He spent 35 years as a Reliability Engineer for both Texas Instruments and then later Raytheon.
Larry had a great heart and a special love for animals. After retiring from Raytheon, he liked to volunteer his time at Hagerman Wildlife Refuge in Texas. In 2012 after being diagnosed with cancer, our father decided he wanted to move closer to his grandkids and settled in Stanwood, WA.
All his life he was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s fan, passing on his passion to us, giving us great memories to share. He also found great strength from his faith in Jesus. It was this strength that made his positive attitude toward life so infectious.
He is survived by his sons, Steven Stogner (wife Krista) and Kevin Stogner (wife Stacie), his daughter Christina Jamison (husband Danny) and his 5 grandchildren, Robert, Jacob, Mali, Andrew and Bryce.
A memorial service will be held at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Stanwood, WA at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 15th.
Arrangements under the direction of Weller Funeral Home, Arlington, WA.
