Larry W. Bullo, 81, passed away on 9/30/2022 at home after a long illness. Born in Burlington, Washington and raised in the Edison/Blanchard area of Skagit County, he was the son of Walter (Wayne) Bullo and Vera (Alwood) Bullo. He attended Burlington-Edison High School and later attended Edison Technical College where he studied Drafting/engineering. He worked for Boeing as a draftsman before landing at Snohomish County Road Maintenance, where he spent 30+ years before retiring in 2003.
Dad was an all-around cool person with many interests. He was a master storyteller and practical joker who kept his sense of humor right until the end despite much adversity. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of his many interests, a few of which were: geology. Volcanoes, dinosaurs, horror/science fiction, history, ancient civilizations, music, guitar repair, engines, aviation, movies, soap making, Harry Potter, the sinking of the Titanic, and many more. We will miss everything about him but especially his dark jokes, ability to know which engine a vehicle had simply by sound, his exceptional taste in music, his chocolate no bake cookies and goulash, and his ability to talk to anyone about anything and make everyone feel included and accepted. He loved his family more than anything and we all knew it. We hope he knew how much we loved him too.
He is survived by two children Laura (Jason) Wheeler, and Michael Smith. His three beloved granddaughters: Tabitha Donnelson (Robbie), Sydney (Trevor) Ledbetter, and Lacey (Tyler) Wickline. His five great-grandchildren: Blake & Scarlett Blendheim, Maddi Donnelson, and Kace & Kye Ledbetter. His grand dogs (who he loved more than us): Moki, TroubleBubble, Tea, and Dixie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, surrogate kids/grandkids, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth (Gilbert) Bullo, son Mark Smith, brother Randall Bullo, sister, and brother-in-law Judy & Earl Lindstrom.
Dad wanted to be cremated and have a private burial with immediate family. A celebration of life party will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 20th, 2022, at Pioneer Hall at 20722 67th Avenue NE, Arlington, WA 98223. We would like to thank the following for the exceptional care and support of Dad and our family: Dr. Raymond Aguilar, Laree, Shelley, and the rest of the team at Providence Medical Group Marysville Clinic, Dr. Maiyen Hawkins & Mayra and all the other doctors at WWMG-GI in Everett, Lee Thompson & Nathan Arnold of Providence Home Health, and all of his other providers.
