I met Karyn a little after my family and I moved up to Darrington around 2012, I remember how funny it was that she had the same last name as my stepfathers family, and then after doing some digging finding out she might be a cousin to the family somehow. I remember when we went to her house all the bugs she had and her and my little sister spent hours looking at all of them, while I spent time hanging out with the dogs. She was always nice to the family and though I hadn't gotten to see her recently it still hurts my heart for the loved ones and family she left behind. I know I didn't get to know her for 30+ years, but in the short time I knew her I could tell that she had made a very full life for herself. I wish everyone that she knew and loved my condolences 

I learned so much from Karyn over the last eight years. She was such a strong woman and I enjoyed my time at her house taking care of plants and animals. I won't ever forget the lessons and skills that she taught me. I will miss her very much! 

Karyn was a great woman. Mariea, Morghan, Colin and I spent time up at her house many times, and have some great memories. We will miss her very much. She was a wealth of knowledge and a great person to be with. I remember placing the sensors, lights and cams up her help her with prowlers. I enjoyed our talks about raising turkeys and chickens, as well as Backwoods Home magazine articles. She cared deeply for the local Native American community (Sauk-Suiattle Tribe) as well. We had planned to call her today, and go see her, but then we found out she had passed on the 2nd. We are very sad to hear of her passing. Our condolences to her sister Verna, and other family members. We love you Karyn!
