Our beloved Jody entered Heaven peacefully on the evening of July 3, 2015, in the presence of her husband, after a courageous year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. Jody was born on June 14, 1969, at the old Providence Hospital in Everett, which had been built just four years earlier. In fact, she was delivered by a Nun from the Sisters of Providence order.
She leaves behind her devoted Husband, Michael Wold, at their home in Arlington, Wa; two loving Sons, Calvin Wold (age 22) and Colten Wold (age 19) also of Arlington; her Mother, Thelma Sayers, Arlington, who was also her best friend and constant companion to the end. Her Brother and his girlfriend, David Sayers and Dalyn Randall of Mill Creek, Wa. Her Mother-in-law, Joyce (Gerald) Magelssen and Sister-in-law, Leslie (Lani) Chu. Her faithful pets, Sissy the Kitten, and her Dog, Camy, will be missing her as well.
Jody hoped to be reunited with her Father, Roger Sayers, who passed away in 2009, as well as her Grandpa, Hank VanDam (2008) and her dear Gram, Jessie VanDam (2012). She was also predeceased by Mike’s Dad, Henry Wold, in 2002, and Grandparents, Leon (2006) and Goldie Sayers (1986).
The best description of Jody would be that she loved her life and fought valiantly to live and had faith she would survive even up to her last day. She was an exceptional wife and mother who had a passion for taking excellent care of her home, her family, and herself. She loved to cook, her house was immaculate, yet cozy and welcoming, and her garden was beautifully kept. She was committed to her fitness routine and her decorating skills were beyond compare. A beautiful, extraordinary woman, whose time here ended far too soon. Her family wishes to thank the wonderful, caring staff at Providence Hospital in Everett, Wa.
Graveside service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, July 18, 2015, Arlington Municipal Cemetery, 20310 67th Ave NE, Arlington, WA 98223. Memorial service and reception to follow at 1:00pm, Seven Lakes Baptist Church, 17007 E Lake Goodwin Rd, Stanwood, Wa 98292.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Seattle Children’s Hospital, M/S S-200, PO Box 5371, Seattle, WA 98145-5005 or www.seattlechildrens.org/ways-to-help/donate/
