Duane Rod went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2015. Before his passing, he resided at Brookdale Senior Living in Marysville. There he made many friends and loving memories.
Duane was born and raised in Arlington, WA. He grew up on a dairy farm with his parents and three siblings.
He enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Korean War. After his time in the Air Force, he married Bette Amundson and moved to Stanwood. They had three children.
He is survived by his children Brian Rod, Lanna Friedrich, and Caroline Sides; his five grandchildren Carson Friedrich, Derek Friedrich, Emily Rod, Kyler Rod, and Brittney Sides; his brother Ron Rod and sister Donna Barnier.
A memorial open house will be held at Brookdale Senior Living Community on Saturday, May 23, 2015 from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Relay for Life for cancer research at http://relay.acsevents.org (participant: Caroline Sides, team name: ECAC…cures).
