Erin Galli Marques, 36, died from an aneurysm on August 17, 2013. Erin was the daughter of Arlington residents, Larry Galli and Shanna (Roley) Galli; loving sister, of Jodi Galli; and granddaugther, of Ruby Roley.
She was married in 2008 to David Marques. They have two children, two year old Molly and newborn Will. She was a devoted wife and mother and put family first.
Erin graduated from Arlington HS in 1996. She was chosen Homecoming Queen and Prom Queen. Her infectious smile and joyous extroverted personality drew others to her. She enjoyed her wonderful circle of friends, who remained a part of her life until her sudden death.
Erin was a gregarious checker at Safeway during high school and college. Erin studied Health Education at Central WA University. After graduating, she taught at schools in Snohomish County for nine years including Jackson High School (2005-Present). Erin had a passion for the "sensitive topics" and thrived in discussions with students about sex education, drugs, and alcohol. Erin was a proud Timberwolf and loved the JHS staff and students.
She completed four marathons in her life, including the 2007 Boston Marathon. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping and spa days with her girlfriends, and Sunday dinners with family. Erin's favorite "unofficial" holiday was an annual RV Camping trip to Lake Chelan. For the past 38 years the "Kamikaze Kampers" have joined together to sing, eat, play games, and create lasting friendships.
A public memorial will be held on August 25, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Arlington High School. A fund has been setup for Erin's children. Donations can be made at any Coastal Community Bank.
