Eleanor was born in Wenatchee, WA to Ben and Edith VanEtten Sept. 14, 1914. She married her sweetheart Tom on June 4, 1934 in Bellingham, WA. Family was very important to her. She enjoyed sharing her love of art, crocheting, writing poetry, and gardening with them. She enjoyed teaching crafts to children at Vacation Bible School and was “Everybody’s Grandma.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, and her husband, Tom.
She is survived by her sister Val Bartholick and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her two daughters. Her daughter Durene Lilienthal; her three daughters, Wendy Davis (Bruce) and their son Joel; Karen Conley (Jeff Everett) and her son Nathaniel (Angelia) and their son Alistair; Laurie Lindsay (Randy) and her son Erick (Janelle) and their daughter Brooke. Her daughter Penny Wise; her children, Renee Richards (Bill) and her daughters Maggie and Katie; Judy Cobb; Tom Cobb (Tina) and their children, Tyler, Toby, and Tessa.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 12012 51st Ave NE, Marysville, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation to your local food bank be made in honor of Eleanor and Tom’s love of helping others.
