Don Ashe, 84, passed away at home October 21st, 2015 as the grandson of the original late 1800 Campbell homesteaders of Darrington, WA. He spent the duration of his 84 year lifespan on the same road where he was originally born. With the exception of his 4 year service to the United States Navy, he spent his life as a logger and owner/operator of Don Ashe Logging. Along with his wife, Elfreda, he enjoyed traveling as much as logging. They took several cruises and made many trips across the country. One of their favorite destinations above all was North Carolina to visit relatives. Don is survived by his wife Elfreda, daughters Marj (Les) Allen, Karen (Mike) Ashe, grandsons Scott (Tracie) Hoglund and Sean (Cecillia) Hoglund. He was especially proud of his beautiful great-granddaughters Kenadie and Mollie Hoglund. He is also survived by his three brothers Lewis, Tom, and John Ashe. Many thanks go out to Laurie and Pat with Providence Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion. Services will be held on Saturday, October 31st, 2015 at 1pm at the Darrington United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Darrington Alumni Scholarship fund or Providence Everett Hospice.
