Dena Anderson of Arlington, WA, passed away February 19, 2012 at Providence Medical Center in Everett, WA, just 3 days before her 94th birthday. She was born to Jacob and Edla Anderson on February, 22, 1918 in Mt. Vernon, WA. As a baby she moved with her family to a farm in Oso, WA. She attended school there through 8th grade, then attended Arlington High School, graduating in 1936. In 1938 she married Dick Mallonee and they had 2 children. He passed away in September of 1946. In December of 1948 she married Dugald Anderson and they were together for 32 years before he passed away in 1980. Dena was very active at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, serving on their Advisory Board and participating in their many activities. She also belonged to the Arlington United Church, Eastern Star and the the Stillaguamish Pioneers Association. Dena always took great pride in her yard and her exceptional vegetable garden. She also loved to travel, spending several winters in Palm Desert, CA, touring the U.S. and going on cruises. Dena was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ina Sampson, Helga Thompson, Ernest Anderson, Leonard Anderson; son Larry Mallonee, and grandson Todd Danubio. She leaves behind her daughter Diane (Dave) Danubio of Stanwood, WA, grandson Jeff Mallonee, great-grandson Jacob Mallonee and daughter-in-law Judy Mallonee, all of Oregon. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 24, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Weller Funeral Home, 327 N. MacLeod Ave., Arlington, WA.
