

Sebastian “Yonnie” Nania, 74, of Webster, Florida, departed this life on October 16, 2023. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Gaspar and Gertrude Nania, and was raised in the Gravesend neighborhood along with his older brother Angelo.
Yonnie enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1967, then studied computer science at the New York Institute of Technology, and psychology and communications at New York University. He was a skilled corporate sales executive with a record of professional success in the telecommunications, data analysis, and federal technology solutions sectors.
Before his retirement, he attended the Criminal Justice Academy in Fairfax, Virginia, and volunteered as both a Fairfax County Auxiliary Police Officer and in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was an avid hobbyist, especially in photography, sailing, horseback riding, scuba diving, and marksmanship.
Yonnie met his wife Tina, the love of his life, in 1978. They married in 1981 and he was a proud father to Tina’s daughters Angela and Tiffannie. Yonnie and Tina spent the first twenty years of their marriage in Orange County, California, and the second twenty years of their marriage in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Over the past decade, Yonnie and Tina drove across the country in their prized motorhome and settled into their current motor coach community in Central Florida.
Yonnie was preceded in death by his father Gaspar, his mother Gertrude, his brother Angelo, and his nephew Angelo. He is survived by his wife Tina, his daughters Angela (John) and Tiffannie (Brent), and his nine grandchildren – Taylor, Brent Jr., Madison, Jordyn, Ellis, Ian, Cole, Jack, and Brady. The family is offering a Viewing on Sunday, Oct. 22, at 4:00 PM, to be followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM, at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA.
