Ruth Croce Bellas of Fairfax, Virginia, devoted mother, wife and grandmother went to be with her lord on Saturday, December 21, 2013. Ruth was born September 9, 1920 to Rose and James Croce in New York City, NY. She grew up in Forest Hills, NY and graduated Friends Seminary in 1936. After her graduation from Brown University in 1940 she worked as an executive secretary in Manhattan.
In 1958, she married the late Col. Joseph John Bellas Jr. MD and raised a family, their family as a military wife. Ruth was active in the Surgeon General Officer’s Wives club; she was an avid traveler and had a passion for cooking.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Rosanne Bellas and Judy Regan, her son in law John, and her two grandchildren Joseph and Jacki as well as her nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately.
