He passed peacefully, June 3rd, 2023, at 10:15 am Eastern Time at Mt. Vernon Hospital. Capt. Daus was a beloved husband, devoted father, esteemed colleague, and a true inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will forever remain etched in our hearts and minds.
Born on March 14, 1933 in Paris France, Capt. Daus embarked on a life filled with adventure, service, and unwavering dedication. He was a man of exceptional character, possessing an indomitable spirit that fueled his numerous achievements throughout his illustrious career. Capt. Daus faithfully served his country as a distinguished captain in the U.S. Navy for 23 years, making invaluable contributions to the defense and security of our nation.
Throughout his military service, Capt. Daus demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his fellow soldiers. He led by example, instilling in others the virtues of discipline, courage, and loyalty. His unwavering dedication to duty and selfless sacrifice earned him the respect and admiration of his comrades and superiors alike.
Beyond his military career, Capt. Daus was a loving and devoted family man. He was a pillar of strength and support for his beloved wife, Albertina, and their cherished children, William, John & Daniel.
Capt. Daus possessed a zest for life that was contagious. He approached each day with enthusiasm, curiosity, and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. He was an avid reader, an author (The Crescent Odyssey) & gardener. His intellectual curiosity and keen insights inspired those around him, leaving an indelible impact on all who crossed his path. He exuded a warmth and kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Capt. Rudolph H. Daus leaves behind a legacy of honor, service, and love that will continue to resonate through the lives he touched. Funeral services for Capt. Rudolph H. Daus will be held at Arlington National Cemetery once an interment date is set.
