On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, Patricia F. Haig, a resident of Palm Beach, FL and McLean, VA passed away. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, General Alexander M. Haig, Jr. USA (Ret). Surviving are her children, Barbara E. Haig; Brian F. Haig and his wife, Lisa; Alexander P. Haig and his wife, Wendy; her grandchildren, Alexander, William, Christopher, Peter, Brian, Patrick, Donnie and Annie; her brother, Col. Eugene Fox, USA (Ret); and her brother-in-law, Reverend Francis R. Haig, S.J.
The Mass of Christian Burial at Fort Myer Old Post Chapel was postponed due to Hurricane Sandy and has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 27 at 10:45am with family and friends gathering at the Chapel at 10:15 p.m. Celebrants for the Mass will be Reverend Francis R. Haig, S.J. and Reverend David L. Martin. Interment Arlington National Cemetery. A reception at the Fort Myer Officer's Club will follow the burial.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Palm Beach, FL to be announced at a later date.

Patricia F. Haig, formerly of Palm Beach, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012. She was 83.
She was the widow of Gen. Alexander M. Haig. She lived in McLean, Va.
Born Patricia Antoinette Fox, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Jordan) and Army Lt. Gen. Alonzo Patrick Fox, a member of Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s staff. Gen. Fox also was a former special assistant to the secretary of defense.
Her family was stationed in Japan with MacArthur when Patricia, still a teenager, was at a football game and caught the eye of West Point graduate Alexander Haig, who asked his friend, Jack Cassidy, for an introduction.
The pair married on May 24, 1950. At the time of Gen. Haig’s death, they had been married 60 years.
Mrs. Haig’s experience as an Army brat and then Army wife prepared her well for her husband’s political career, during which she was a steadfast and calm presence at his side.
Mrs. Haig is survived a daughter, Barbara Haig; two sons, Brian and Alexander; eight grandchildren, Alexander, William, Christopher, Peter, Brian, Patrick, Donnie and Annie Haig; two daughters-in-law, Lisa and Wendy; a brother, Col. Eugene Fox (USA-Ret.); and a brother-in-law, the Rev. Francis Haig.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 2:45 p.m, on Tuesday at the Fort Myer Old Post Chapel at Fort Myer, Va. Celebrants for the Mass will be the Rev. Haig and the Rev. David L. Martin.
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. A reception at the Fort Myer Officer’s Club will follow the burial.
A Memorial Mass will take place at St. Edward Catholic Church at a later date.
