Norman K. Dawson Jr. 91 of Alexandria, VA passed away Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Alexandria Hospital. He was born in Arlington, VA June 01, 1924. He was the beloved husband of Blanche King Dawson for 72 years, and a loving Father of Kathryn D.Kingsbury, Richard K. Dawson, and Norman J. Dawson. He was the grandfather of six grandchildren, and the great-grandfather of five. He is survived by one cousin and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by three sister-in-laws.
Norman (Tom) was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Patton's Third Army. Tom was a dedicated and proud employee of American Airlines, DCA, for 32 years. He achieved the position of Crew Chief.
The family will receive friends at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd. on Wednesday, August 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 20 at Murphy Funeral Home; Interment immediately following at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA 22201.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity in Norman's name, or an organization of the donor's choice.
