

On Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 4:00 a.m., Ms. Lili peacefully joined her loving husband, Herman, and the Lord in heaven. A remarkable woman with a strong faith and love of the Lord, Ms. Lili survived many difficult situations with dignity. Born in Holland to Gottfied Van Dyke, scientist, and Elisabeth Gibson Van Dyke, pediatrician, as a child Ms. Lili survived World War II. While in safe haven in a convent in Peissenberg, she was close to taking her final vows as a nun when the Lord led her to be a caring wife, mother and nurse.to many in need. She was married to Herman for 57 years until his death in 2005. As a labor and delivery nurse, Ms. Lili witnessed the birth of many new blessings, including her grandson. She has truly touched the lives of many people and will be lovingly remembered.. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Linda Elisabeth Councill of Falls Church, VA; her son, Christopher Monty Seidler (Darren), grandson, Christopher M. Seidler (Gwen) and great granddaughter, Gianna Nicole. The family will be present to receive friends at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA 22203, on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Alexandria, VA and interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced when scheduled in the future.
