On September 23, 2010, at her home in Arlington, VA. Survived by her husband of 67 years, Lt. Colonel C. Michael Harris (Retired), her son and daughter-in-law David and Gale Harris, her late son Joseph Harris, and several other loving relatives. Born in Snow Hill, North Carolina, in 1911,she grew up with five brothers, and taught history and French until World War II, when she served as an Army hostess. After her marriage, she lived in various places where her husband was stationed, including Japan and Germany. She resided in Arlington for more than 30 years. Visiting hours for friends will be at Arlington Funeral Home, 3901 N. Fairfax Dr, Arlington, VA on Monday, October 4, 2010, from 1-3 PM. She will be interred in Snow Hill, NC.
