My sympathy for the loss of your father. He came to my father's funeral and assured me that I would have a great life because my father had done so much good in the world. I say the same to you. Master Rhee was my friend. We spent many rich hours together. Your mother used to bring us orange juice and green tea every morning after we worked out. I traveled many places with Jhoon Rhee. We spoke to many people together. Mostly though, I will miss our discussions of philosophy. Your father was a very rare man. The world might miss him, but he will never be forgotten.

To the extended family of Senior Grand Master Jhoon Rhee.... I'm Senior Master Charles January Jr of Illinois.... SGMJR, made several trips to Illinois and at one of the meeting he attended the other Masters and Grand Masters was saying I was anti-Korean and he straightens them out in English and Korean... What was so great about SGMJR was his love for everyone and that is what I will miss the most... This was a great man and this is a great loss to humanity and the world and I hope to be a good steward of keeping his message and love alive for as long as I'm on earth.... Chun, I was saddened today to read of the passing of your father and our Grandmaster Rhee. I have often thought about his condition and his health the past years. Please accept our condolences and pass to your family as well. Grandmaster Rhee will be in our prayers this week along with your entire family. We so much enjoyed the instructor training sessions over the years, hearing his thoughts on life, and just being around him and his challenges to be a better person. Your father was an amazing man and lived a full life, contributing to the betterment of all that knew him. He flies on wing of eagles and now knows true happiness. The times I was able to introduce him at the black testing for Imperial Tae Kwon Do NJ will always be special in my life.  Having Grandmaster Rhee present my 2nd Degree Black Belt at the instructors dinner in Washington DC will also be a cherished memory!

"No matter what you do, be the best you can be." Grandmaster JGR generously welcomed me into his life as a student, artist, and friend - teaching me more life lessons than I can list. Lessons that have resonated throughout my daily life, guiding me, for 20 years since. His positive influence on martial arts (and thousands of personal lives) in America, world-wide, is nothing less than iconic. He is (and remains) a role model of the highest character and integrity. 

"I am happy because I always choose to be happy."  Thank you for that GM Rhee!  My son and I  earned our black belts at the Georgetown location in the '90s.   It was a most memorable experience and one we will forever cherish.    Thank you for encouraging and empowering us.
